Project Overview

The objective was to assess the feasibility of establishing a Regional Delivery Centre (RDC) that would centralize IT development and operations for 8 countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.

Key Contributions

  • Participated in strategic assessments of 4 proposed delivery models, including AzTech-led builds and partner-driven approaches.
  • Conducted comparative analysis of legal, fiscal, and regulatory feasibility for centralising IT operations in Malaysia.
  • Assisted in designing a weighted location assessment framework to evaluate options against Allianz's business and technology objectives.
  • Contributed to the development of a final executive options paper, summarising strategic fit, operational risk, cost to achieve, and regulatory complexity.
  • Supported the recommendation of a hybrid "AzTech + Partner" model with implementation support to manage transition risk and accelerate capability growth.

Outcomes

  • Malaysia confirmed as the optimal RDC location.
  • Option 2c (AzTech-driven with partner support) recommended and endorsed by Allianz stakeholders.
  • Clear roadmap and governance model defined for RDC implementation and service transition planning.
